Wayne Rooney was the player who settled matters, placing his shot past the excellent Mark Schwarzer.
Both keepers impressive, take your pick for man of the match.
Thanks for joining me, and make sure to stay tuned to Bleacher Report for all the reaction to this, and the other EPL games taking place today.
90+4'- Mladen Petric wins a free kick on the edge of the United box. Last chance surely...
90+2'- Senderos almost equalises with a powerful header from a Riise corner, but van Persie heads off the line!
Javier Hernandez finds himself one-on-one down the other end but fluffs his lines in front of goal.
Late drama at Craven Cottage... still time left for Fulham.
90'- Time ticking away for Fulham as we face three minutes of stoppage time.
It's wins like these that define a season. Sorry Roberto Mancini, but United are showing no signs of slipping up yet.
A quick snap of Rooney's goal.
88'- Emanuelson tries to free Riise into space down the left wing, but overhits his pass and de Gea has a goal kick.
Manchester United have won 8 games on the road this season, more than any other EPL team. This would make it nine.
86'- It's United who look the more likely to score at the moment as Ryan Giggs gets involved near the right side corner flag. The Cottagers seem very fatigued at the moment.
Fulham 0-1 Manchester United
83'- Rooney lifts a pass over to Valencia, who heads the ball back across goal to van Persie. The Dutchman's acrobatic effort flies over Schwarzer's goal. Offside anyway, though.
Sir Alex makes a switch of his own, Danny Welbeck on for Nani.
81'- Fulham immediately go in search of an equaliser as Hugo Rodallega heads just wide from a corner.
Mladen Petric on for Ashkan Dejagah as Jol makes his move.
79'- GOAL UNITED!
It's Wayne Rooney who finally finds the back of the net. He picks up a long ball, runs at Hughes before placing his shot into the far corner past Schwarzer.
78'- A Fulham corner reaches Baird at the near post. His flick on finds Ruiz, whose header seems bound for the top corner but Rafael jumps to head off the line.
How are we still at 0-0?
76'- Robin van Persie almost gets on the end of a towering long ball, but his attempted flick pass to Chicharito bounces into Schwarzer's arms.
Tom Cleverley meanwhile has been hauled off for Ryan Giggs. Decent display by the young midfielder today alongside Carrick in the middle.
73'- Brian Ruiz tears down the left flank before delivering a great cross into the area. Ashkan Dejagah appears to beat Evra in the air, but the Frenchman does enough to force the winger's header wide.
71'- Sacha Riether fires a promising shot that de Gea does well to get down and save. Rodallega can't put away the rebound.
Still 0-0 at Craven Cottage. Sir Alex Ferguson would certainly consider this game two points dropped if the score remains the same.
69'- Georgios Karagounis makes way for debutant Urby Emanuelson for Fulham. An exciting signing, but can the midfielder deliver?
67'- van Persie bends the free kick towards the far post, but Schwarzer is across quickly to claim.
66'- Valencia goes on a long, weaving run infield, before being tripped by a retreating Baird. Yellow for the Fulham man.
It is the Ecuadorian winger who departs for Chicharito, who will look to solidify his reputation as a late-game specialist.
64'- Chris Baird fires low and hard from outside the area, but a diving de Gea is equal to it.
Javier Hernandez is preparing to come on for the away side. Either Nani or Valencia the likely departees.
62'- It's been a far more sedate second period so far as both sides struggle to breach their opponent's back line.
Norwich City were the last team to beat United in the Premier League. Still plenty to do for Fulham, but with the score locked at 0-0 anything can happen.
59'- Michael Carrick tackles well near halfway before leading the charge upfield.
He lifts a fine pass to van Persie through the left channel, but the Dutchman is ruled offside by the linesman on the near side.
57'- Rafael cuts inside, eases into space outside the Fulham box before shooting fractions over the crossbar with a rising drive.
55'- The Red Devils still plugging away as a Nani cross fails to clear the first man. Karagounis then leads a counter attack, but his shot flies wide of de Gea's goal.
Fulham's midweek win against West Ham was their first in eight league outings. The London side have been in patchy form to say the least.
52'- Rooney delivers the set piece into the area, but Senderos rises highest to head clear.
52'- Manchester United have a free kick in good position near the left flank thanks to a Dejagah handball.
Sir Alex's side can move 10 points clear at the summit of the Premier League table with a win today... at least until Manchester City play tomorrow.
50'- Nani chips a deft cross towards van Persie on the penalty spot, but the Dutchman can't get enough purchase on his header to beat Schwarzer.
