TNA Impact! Wrestling: A Historic Show from the UK; Carter Makes Announcement
TNA Impact! Wrestling, which was taped from Manchester, England, opened with a video package involving the latest turn of events from Aces and Eights.
Kazarian and Christopher Daniels came out to the ring first for Open Fight Night on Impact! Wrestling. While both Kazarian and Daniels were speaking, Magnus interrupted them by walking toward the ring. Magnus, who drew plenty of cheers from the large audience, fired back at Kazarian and Daniels by pointing out that both of them were very disrespectful.
After challenging Kazarian and Daniels to a match, Magnus forced both of them outside the ring. He thanked the people who support TNA and called out Devon to have a battle in the ring.
Match No. 1: Magnus vs. Devon
Your winner via disqualification: Magnus.
Two members of Aces and Eights attempted to attack Magnus, but the hometown hero was able to fend off both wrestlers—a decent opening match, as the crowd was very much alive for this one.
Match Rating: 3/5
Following the aforementioned matchup, Joseph Park was in the ring. As he was talking, Robbie E and Robbie T suddenly came out. Robbie E told Park he is not a wrestler and demanded a match.
Match No. 2: Joseph Park vs. Robbie E
Your winner via pinfall: Joseph Park.
Park made his Impact! Wrestling debut with a pretty impressive victory. TNA picking Robbie E to lose in this match was a good decision, as he was even able to gain a strong reaction from the audience. With the victory, where will TNA go next with the Park character?
Match Rating: 2.5/5
After a backstage shot of Hulk Hogan walking into the arena, Austin Aries and Bobby Roode stood in the ring to discuss a new era in TNA.
Aries announced their plans to acquire all of the TNA belts and called out Tag Team champions Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez. Aries put a speculation to the proposed match, saying that if he can beat Guerrero, the TNA Tag Team titles must be put on the line.
Match No. 3: Austin Aries and Hernandez vs. Austin Aries and Bobby Roode
Your winner via pin fall: Austin Aries.
TNA is really making things interesting with Aries and Roode. It appears with all the momentum to their side, TNA may push both Aries and Roode as a powerful tag team. This was a solid featured match, as Aries was able to capture the victory thanks to Roode's distractions from outside the ring.
Match Rating: 3.5/5
Bully Ray and Hogan's daughter, Brooke, both headed toward the ring. Ray admitted how much he loves Brooke and called out Hogan to lift his suspension. As the audience chanted Sting's name, "The Icon" arrived on the entrance way and walked to the ring. Sting asked everyone to chant Hogan's name.
Hogan, to a large ovation, joined Ray, Sting and Brooke in the ring.
Sting asked Hogan to get rid of Ray's suspension. After hearing Sting, Hogan took the microphone and reinstated Ray. Quickly afterward, Hogan made a match for next week between two members of Aces and Eights to fight against Sting and Ray.
TNA president Dixie Carter announced that Impact! Wrestling tapings will be going on the road permanently, with the first show coming from Chicago, Illinois, at the Sears Centre Arena on Thursday, March 14.
Velvet Sky was introduced to the ring and called out the TNA Knockouts champion, Tara, and her partner, Jesse. Sky invited James Storm to the ring to be her tag team partner.
Match No. 4: James Storm and Velvet Sky vs. Tara and Jesse
Your winner via pinfall: James Storm and Velvet Sky. There was nothing spectacular about this match but it was a better-than-expected filler leading to the main event.
Match Rating: 2.5/5
Match No. 5: Mr. Anderson vs. Kurt Angle in a cage match
Your winner via submission: Kurt Angle. Angle and Mr. Anderson really put on a terrific cage match main event. There was plenty of action and high-risk moves that resulted in a very entertaining match.
Match Rating: 4/5
After the match, an Aces and Eights member climbed into the ring along with Briscoe. However, Bischoff revealed himself as a member of Aces and Eights. After forcing Bischoff into the corner, Briscoe joined Aces and Eights by attacking Angle next as Impact! Wrestling concluded.
