So what is the best month in sports?

Fans are fondly reminded of months where their teams' saw great success.

Some opt for the abundance of top notch competition from day 1 to day 28, 29, 30, or 31 of said month.

In this slideshow, S and G Sports takes a personal look at why April is another favorite sports month of the year.

Without any more buildup, S and G's top seven reasons April is sports' top month.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is in full swing as drivers gear up for the Samsung 500, the Subway Fresh Fit 500, and the Infamous Aaron's 499 at Talladega Speedway.

April serves as a key season marker for many racers. This is a great time for some quality races and allows the big names to separate themselves from the pack.

6. NBA Playoffs

As the regular season winds down, the NBA playoffs heat up.

We are treated to another couple months of the league's best teams, all fighting for the title of World Champions.

Perennial MVP's LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade are now asked to carry their team out of late April and into early June.

Could this photo be a forecast of the NBA Finals?

April is the best time of the year to catch ultra-competitive women's hoops action.

Expect to be treated to superb athletes from Stanford, UConn, Oklahoma, and the like, all battling furiously for the always elusive trophy.

4. MLB Opening Day

March Madness!

How can one miss it?

We have sifted past the opening rounds and now only four teams stand in early April.

Who can overcome fatigue, nerves, and expectations to win it all?

Only the best get to dance past March, but only one will go unbeaten, cutting down the nets and the taking home the trophy...

1. The NFL Draft

Perhaps the finest event not named a national holiday.

We spend early February to late April waiting for this two-day affair.

No more listening to Todd McShay and Mel Kiper Jr. argue their brains out over who should go where, these days our teams build youthfully for a crack at the Super Bowl.

With the first pick in the 2009 NFL Draft...

April is Sports' Top Month!!!
