MLB Flamethrowers We Can't Wait to Watch This Spring

Zachary D. Rymer@zachrymerMLB Lead WriterJanuary 30, 2013

In Major League Baseball, spring is a time of plans and projects.

Also hard fastballs. Yes, many hard fastballs.

It’s been a while since baseball fans were treated to hard fastballs in the upper 90s zipping across the plate, but they’ll soon be available in abundance. Spring training is just around the corner, and some of the world’s top power pitchers will be showing off their wares in the World Baseball Classic as well.

B/R Pop Culture Lead Writer Gabe Zaldivar and I got together to discuss some flamethrowers that we can’t wait to see this spring. We each picked a pair of prospects and a pair of established major leaguers. Put them all together, and you’d probably get a 400 mile-per-hour fastball that would be quite a sight (and quite deadly).

Leave your comments below if you have any, and you’re also welcome to follow Gabe and me on Twitter. We always bring the heat.
