Ex-Secretary of State Baker Will Head City's Delegation to Win Super Bowl LI
USA TODAY Sports
After Super Bowl XLVII, James A. Baker III will be announced as chairman of Houston’s Super Bowl Host Committee.
Baker, the former secretary of state under President George H.W. Bush, was recommended for the position by his close friend, Texans owner Bob McNair.
McNair and Baker weren’t available for comment on Monday, but a person familiar with Houston’s bid said Baker accepted McNair’s offer, and everyone has signed off on it.
