QPR are close to securing the arrival of Christopher Samba from the Russian Premier League club, Anzhi Makhachkala, with the former Blackburn Rovers centre-half having flown to England to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

Samba left Anzhi's winter training camp in Marbella on Tuesday, with the club's manager Guus Hiddink having now confirmed he had travelled to London.
