Devils coach Pete DeBoer pointed the finger directly at his team’s veteran leaders. It is time to stop showing up for games in the second period.

So far the Devils have started this season just fine, collecting points in each of their first four games with a 3-0-1 record. But he’s had enough of lackadaisical starts and warned that his players must begin dictating play from the drop of the puck.
