Spurs point guard Tony Parker has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for the eighth time in his 12-year career, the NBA announced Monday.
Parker, recently named to his fifth All-Star game, averaged 24.5 points and 9.5 assists while shooting 60.6 percent as the Spurs went 4-0. He was particularly good in the absences of Tim Duncan and head coach Gregg Popovich, averaging 26 points and 10 assists in three Spurs victories.
