J.J. Redick wants you to believe that he's heading out to Justin Bieber concerts to appease his wife, but I don't think I'm buying that just yet.

While the Orlando Magic had an off-night on Saturday, Redick spent the free time that he found himself with taking in a bit of crooning and preening from Bieber, and he's using the guise of his wife in order to keep his rep up in the locker room.

I have a general rule that if I have an off-day during the season that I owe it to her to do what she wants unless it’s harmful to my well-being. Her and her friends wanted to go.

A happy wife is a happy life.

It seems to me that there are plenty of ways to argue that a trip to a Biebs concert would be harmful to a person's well-being, but Redick seems to have no problem taking his wife into a crowd of thousands of screaming teenage girls.

In fact, it seems as if the performance picked up his spirits a bit. On the 24th, his most recent game before the Bieber concert, Redick made just four of his 11 shot attempts and scored 14 points.

By halftime of the Magic's game against the Detroit Pistons, in their first game after the Bieber concert, Redick was able to put down 21 points on his way to a huge game.

In the meantime, it seems as though Redick is comfortable where he is, even amidst the trade rumors, which seem to be heating up as of late, even if there are going to be several specific demands from the Magic.

There remains a chance that JJ Redick is dealt before the February trade deadline and if not then, in a deal this summer. But a league source dismissed the possibility of a trade to Boston and the Pacers, while also interested, appear to be a longshot as well. "There's no deal to be had," the source said of Boston. The Magic are supposedly looking for draft picks and young talent on a rookie contract. No one on the Celtics' roster apparently fits the bill.

We'll see how it all unfolds, and in the meantime perhaps Redick can take his wife out to see One Direction.
