BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- In a battle between two Big Ten heavyweights and with an opportunity to come up with a crucial road victory, Michigan State fell just short. The Spartans went to Assembly Hall and played well, but with starting point guard Keith Appling on the bench for most of the game in foul trouble, Indiana wouldn't let the upset take place, beating them 75-70 on Sunday.
