Michigan State vs. Indiana: Live Score, Updates and Analysis for B1G Game
The Indiana Hoosiers put on a show by topping the Michigan State Spartans, 75-70 in an incredible Big Ten matchup.
The usual stars did not shine very bright in this one, as Cody Zeller only scored nine points, and Keith Appling fouled out without recording an assist, and turning the ball over four times.
Tom Crean improves to 2-3 against Tom Izzo with these teams, and the home team has now won four of the five meetings.
Victor Oladipo was clearly the MVP for the Hoosiers, dropping 21 points, grabbing seven rebounds and snagging six steals. He was all over the place on defense, and that translated to some huge dunks in transition.
No. 7 Indiana improves to 18-2 on the season and 6-1 in B1G play, while No. 13 Michigan State falls to 17-4, and 6-2 in conference play.

Lessons Learned
1. Victor Oladipo is Grossly Underrated
If I asked you who Indiana's hero in this game would be you probably would have guessed Cody Zeller or Christian Watford, but certainly not Oladipo.
By dropping 21 points he proved that he is a huge offensive threat. By grabbing seven rebounds he showed hustle and that he will make every effort play. By somehow forcing six steals he proved that he is a menace on defense.
Oladipo finally proved that he is an incredibly gifted player, and he is going to be one of the guys to watch for Indiana down the stretch.
2. Adreian Payne is a Man

Payne finally stepped up for the Spartans, but the struggles of Keith Appling led to a loss.
However, Spartan fans should be happy that their big guy is coming along.
He went for 18 points and nine boards in this game, and id he and Derrick Nix can work well together inside the Spartans will be dangerous.
3. We Can't Wait For The Rematch
Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports
This was an excited game that came down to the wire. Both teams had their problems at times, but right now we just can't wait to see them play again on Feb. 19 in East Lansing.

That was one of the best games I've seen all year. It wasn't a buzzer-beater, but it was a close game throughout, and was competitive throughout.

That drawn charge by Zeller will seal the deal. Barring any miracles, Indiana is going to win this game.

Oladipo couldn't be the hero again, and now MSU has a chance to score and cut this to a one- or two-point game.

Good timeout by Tom Crean. If his guys can score here the game is essentially over, so long as they can also hit a free throw.

That right there is why Zeller is one of the best players in the country. He just forgets about his earlier struggles and knocks down the shot.

That travel was definitely the right call in my mind. This is really shaping up to be a barnburner.

Horrible situational management by Trice. He didn't even realize that he had the abll and wasn't moving for five seconds. He should have looked at the shot clock.

Indiana can taste the win right now. The team is winning, the crowd is into the game, and Michigan State has to try to come back without its best player. It's not over by any means, but IU should take home the victory now that Appling is gone.

Keith Appling is done. Tough way to pick up your fifth foul, and now Michigan State will be without its best player for the last five minutes. He's done with three points, two rebounds, zero assists and four turnovers,

Great pass, but I thought Oladipo was going to throw that down hard. SEND IT IN JEROME!

Not sure that amused is the right word, but he sure felt something.
A little full-court pressure from the #Hoosiers baffles the #Spartans. Izzo seems amused by that time-out. #MSUIU #B1G

Great pressure by Indiana to force MSU to call a timeout there. Can't even in-bound the ball because of the Hoosiers.

I've been really impressed with Indiana's ability to find the open man. Everyone helps the ball-handler know where to go with it, and that has led to easy buckets at times.

Gary Harris is playing really well right now. Indiana needs to adjust and make sure that there is always someone around Harris.

It's been a sloppy start to the second half. You can tell that both teams want it, but they need to take a step back and think about what they're doing.
