WWE Royal Rumble 2013: Predictions for All 5 Matches

1 of 6

The Royal Rumble is one of the most unpredictable and exciting PPVs of the year. This year's Royal Rumble is taking place at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Including the pre-show, there are a total of five confirmed matches taking place at the 2013 Royal Rumble. In my opinion, all five matches are going to be entertaining, fun to watch and, most importantly, unpredictable.

Looking at the card, this may be one of the best Royal Rumbles in recent memory. Even the pre-show match is intriguing!

Here are my predictions for every match taking place at the 2013 Royal Rumble.

United States Title Match: Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. the Miz

2 of 6

Antonio Cesaro is one of those guys who always beats the Santino's and R-Truth's, but comes up short beating main-event guys like Randy Orton (fought to a no contest draw).

The WWE isn't ready to give him a major push, but I promise you, Cesaro is ready. He's one of the strongest, most exciting wrestlers in professional wrestling today.

Miz, on the other hand, has been all over the place.

He came up short after feuding with Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental title and now, he's gunning for an even less prestigious belt.

However, Cesaro vs. The Miz for the United States Championship is a great sign for the WWE. These two are top-notch competitors and it's nice to see two big names compete for the U.S. title.

I have a feeling that Cesaro vs. Miz will be a World/WWE title feud in the next few years.

Miz, who was the WWE champion less than two years ago, isn't going to fall all the way down to U.S Title status. Therefore, I pick Cesaro to get the win.

It's a shame this match is on the pre-show.

    Winner: Antonio Cesaro

WWE Tag Team Title Match: Team Hell No (c) vs. Team Rhodes Scholars

3 of 6

I think that Team Hell No is on a downward spiral and it seems like they are more focused on winning the Rumble match instead of retaining the WWE Tag Team titles.

Kane and Daniel Bryan have been extremely entertaining as a tag team, but all good things must come to end.

In my opinion, Team Rhodes Scholars are equal to Team Hell No when it comes to entertainment. Damien Sandow has a brilliant gimmick and is one of the best talkers in the WWE. He is a solid in-ring performer as well.

Cody Rhodes has seemed to be stuck in the mid-to-upper-card for the past four years, but he always puts on good matches. Right now, his mustache is more over than himself.

The arguing between Kane and Daniel Bryan will lead to their demise. Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow are intellectual and will find a way to beat the Anger Management Graduates.

It is unlikely, but I'm hoping for Dr. Shelby to turn on Team Hell No. Shelby is one of the best non-wrestling characters in the WWE and I hope to see more of him in the future. Turning on Team Hell No would make that happen.

    Winner: Team Rhodes Scholars

World Heavyweight Title Match: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. The Big Show

4 of 6

Another Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight title...awesome!

Who knew Alberto Del Rio would be such an entertaining face? I always thought he needed a character change, but I didn't think he would be this over with the fans!

After winning the World Heavyweight title from The Big Show in a Last Man Standing match two weeks ago on SmackDown, Alberto Del Rio is a changed man. He's added some new moves to his repertoire and we are seeing a new side of Del Rio that works.

I'm not sure what the WWE has in store for The Big Show. He's had a very long and successful career, so I'm sure he is looking to put other guys over.

I wouldn't mind seeing Big Show and Ryback at WrestleMania. I think that could be a unique match.

I think that Alberto Del Rio will retain the title, but I don't know if he will leave the Royal Rumble as champion. This would be the perfect opportunity for Dolph Ziggler to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

After cheating to win the Beat the Clock challenge, Ziggler was given the option to be the No. 1 or No. 2 entrant in the Royal Rumble.

I don't think Ziggler is winning the Rumble.

The WWE has the audience thinking Ziggler is going to have a horrible night at the Royal Rumble, so this would be a good time to successfully cash in the briefcase.

However, I don't think it will happen.

I think Ziggler will come down and try to cash in the briefcase on a beaten-down Del Rio. Just as he's about to cash it in, a frustrated Big Show will give him a WMD and knock him out.

At Royal Rumble 2013, Dolph Ziggler will fail, once again, to cash in the briefcase.

It doesn't make sense if Del Rio loses the title less than month after winning it. Therefore, Alberto Del Rio will successfully retain the WHC.

    Winner: Alberto Del Rio

WWE Title Match: CM Punk (c) vs. The Rock

5 of 6

Wow, is this match unpredictable or what?

We all know that The Rock will be WWE champion, but will it be at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania? I think it will be at WrestleMania.

If Rocky "brings it," then this match will steal the show at the 2013 Royal Rumble. We all know that Punk will put forth a great performance, but The Rock needs to have a better showing than the one he had at WrestleMania 28 against John Cena.

I have no idea how this match is going to go down. There are so many possibilities.

Vince McMahon said if The Shield interferes in the WWE title match, CM Punk will be stripped of the championship. The key words are "The Shield".

Could we see an interference from Brock Lesnar? Both Lesnar and Punk are managed by Paul Heyman, so if Lesnar interferes, it would make sense.

Could we see an appearance from Brad Maddox? Remember, last week on Raw, Maddox talked to Heyman and said that he would do "anything" to help and be famous.

If Maddox costs Rock the match, I say he would be pretty famous!

Interference or not, I see Punk picking up the win.

One thing is for sure, CM Punk will not beat the Rock cleanly.

    Winner: CM Punk

Royal Rumble Match

6 of 6

    FINALLY...the Royal Rumble.

I think the favorite to win the Rumble match is John Cena, but I'm going to swing for the fences and pick someone whom nobody expects to even enter the 2013 Royal Rumble.

Before the 30th entry, I think the five WWE Superstars left in the Ring will be John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Kane.

Coming in at No. 30 will be...The Rock!

In the past, we've seen WWE Superstars enter the Rumble after having previous matches at the event (Dolph Ziggler entering at No. 31 after losing his World Heavyweight title match against Edge at Royal Rumble 2011).

After Orton, Sheamus, Kane and Barrett are eliminated, The Rock and John Cena will be the last two Superstars left in the Rumble.

The crowd will be going nuts!

The Rock will eliminate Cena and win the Royal Rumble at No. 30. Once again, Rocky will show his dominance and embarrass Cena.

    Winner: The Rock
