Super Bowl XLVII: Top 10 Prop Bets for Ravens vs. 49ers
The two-week break before Super Bowl XLVII seems to last forever. The game gets overanalyzed and the storylines range from the interesting to the wacky.
This leaves the football betting fanatic plenty of time to scour the hundreds of proposition bets that are available for wagering during the Super Bowl. Much like the storylines, the prop bets range from the thought-provoking to the zany.
Here is a look at the top 10 prop bets for Super Bowl XLVII.

One of the best features about wagering on a proposition bet during the Super Bowl is that you don’t have to wait for the game to start to get some action.
Will Alicia Keys forget or omit at least 1 word of the official US National Anthem?
Yes +150 (3/2)
No -200 (1/2)
With all of the controversy surrounding Beyonce’s rendition of the national anthem, don’t expect Alicia Keys to drop the ball. Keys will make sure that she sings the song and that she gets it right.
The odds are a bit steep for a reason. Keys will be very diligent in her preparation for the big number and will get it right without missing a beat.

Getting an edge on prop betting can be had with just a little bit of homework.
Will Alicia Keys add at least 1 word of the official US National Anthem?
Yes +200 (2/1)
No -300 (1/3)
Even if you are not aware that Keys is a huge diva and likes to do things differently, she let it slip that this version of our great nation’s anthem will be unique.
“Wait till you hear this one,” Keys said with a wink. ”You’ll see. I’m gonna do it in a way that only I can do.”
That’s good enough for me. The odds are tempting and it will not be surprising to see Keys jazz up the performance by adding in something distinctive.

The first play of the game has a prop bet that is ripe for the taking.
Will the opening kickoff result in a touchback?
Yes (Opening Kickoff Touchback) -200
No (Opening Kickoff Touchback) +160
As the Super Bowl kicks off, both teams are hyped up and the adrenaline is pumping. The kicker is in charge of starting the game and backed by all the energy and excitement, a touchback is most likely to occur.
The Ravens are ranked sixth in the NFL this season in touchbacks and the 49ers are ranked 10th. Both teams can launch the pigskin and whoever kicks off wants to avoid the big return. The odds are again a bit high, but that’s because the opening kickoff will be a touchback.
Prop Bet: Yes (Opening Kickoff Touchback) -200

The kickoff is over and the game is underway. This is the time to focus on in-game prop bets.
SUPER BOWL XLVII - San Francisco 49ers Total Team Points
The Super Bowl prediction can be a good guide to betting on props but not in all cases.
With all due respect to the Ravens defense, they still give up yardage and that will equal big points for the 49ers.

The Ravens and the 49ers have had very competitive games leading up to the Super Bowl. There is no reason to believe the Super Bowl will be any different.
Will both teams have the lead during the 1st half?
Yes (Both Teams Lead in 1st Half) +130
No (Both Teams Do Not Lead in 1st Half) -160
This prop bet will rely on both teams scoring in the first half.
The first team to score will have the lead, so that will handle the first half of the prop. This happened in both the AFC and the NFC Championship games and with a competitive game expected, it could easily happen again.
Prop Bet: Yes (Both Teams Lead in 1st Half) +130

One of the more difficult prop bets is picking which team will be leading at halftime and which team will win the game.
SUPER BOWL XLVII - Half Time / Full Time
Baltimore Ravens / Baltimore Ravens 13/4
San Francisco 49ers / Baltimore Ravens 13/2
Tie / Baltimore Ravens 15/1
Tie / San Francisco 49ers 12/1
Baltimore Ravens / San Francisco 49ers 5/1
San Francisco 49ers / San Francisco 49ers 1/1
The 49ers have a habit of falling behind early. They were behind in both playoff games and had to make comebacks in order to win. Due to a history of San Francisco posting sluggish starts, the Ravens will jump out to an early lead, but ultimately my prediction is that the 49ers will end up on top.
Prop Bet: Baltimore Ravens / San Francisco 49ers 5/1
Jay Z in the House?

Just because it’s halftime doesn’t mean there is a break from prop betting.
Will Beyonce be joined by Jay Z on Stage during the Super Bowl Half Time Show?
Yes +110 (11/10)
No -150 (2/3)
Beyonce is going to be the halftime entertainment and although the thought of her husband, Jay Z, joining her is interesting, it’s unlikely to happen.
Beyonce will reunite with Destiny’s Child and they are promoting a new song, so that will be the focus of this performance.
Jay Z is a huge star, so there is no need to share the spotlight and crash the party.
Prop Bet: No -150 (2/3)

One of the biggest side stories of the Super Bowl is the fact that brothers will be coaching against one another. This leads up to the next prop bet.
How many times will Jack Harbaugh be shown on TV during the game?
Over 1.5 (-140) (5/7)
Under 1.5 (EVEN) (1/1)
There is no doubt that Jack Harbaugh will get his fair share of air time. The father of both head coaches could be talked about for a multitude of reasons.
Dad goes over game film and will be on the edge of his seat during the game. The cameras will have to get a shot of Dad’s reaction to the outcome of the game, which is good enough reason to believe this prop goes over in the first half.
Prop Bet: Over 1.5 (-140) (5/7)

This is the Super Bowl, and there will undoubtedly be big plays like there always are.
Longest Touchdown Scored in the Game (Yardage)
Over/Under 46 ½
Both offenses have enough talent to connect on a deep ball. Joe Flacco has a strong arm and is not afraid to air it out early and often.
Kaepernick’s mobility will lead to the Ravens spying on the rookie and leaving single coverage in the secondary.
Randy Moss loves to turn it on in the big game and go deep. Regardless of what team will pull off the feat, the big play will appear once again in Super Bowl XLVII.
Prop Bet: Over 46.5

The game could come down to a last-minute field goal, which is something the 49ers will be looking to avoid.
SUPER BOWL XLVII - Team to make most successful 3 point Field Goals in the game?
Baltimore Ravens (Most Field Goals) EVEN
San Francisco 49ers (Most Field Goals) -130
49ers place-kicker David Akers is having an awful year. Akers missed a chip shot in the game against the Atlanta Falcons and has become virtually unreliable. Akers has missed more field goals than any other kicker this year and Jim Harbaugh may even choose to go for it on fourth downs more often if Akers misses early.
By default the Ravens should be more successful when it comes to converting on field-goal attempts.
Prop Bet: Baltimore Ravens (Most Field Goals) EVEN
The Super Bowl is an annual event and this year it comes loaded with a buffet of prop bets to choose from. Choose wisely and this Sunday could be an unforgettable and profitable game.
