Why Tamina Should Have a Spot in the 2013 WWE Royal Rumble
The Royal Rumble is one of the most exciting nights of the year, as 30 men and women compete in an over-the-top battle royal to see who gets a title shot at WrestleMania.
Notice how I included "women."
In the past we have seen the likes of Chyna, Beth Phoenix and Kharma make Rumble appearances, and they left a definite impact on Rumble history.
These talented women were put in the match because they were able to match up with the men in the ring. All three of the names mentioned can probably bench press more than some of the men on the roster, not to mention out-wrestle them.
Even though the odds of a woman winning the Rumble match seem very slim, fans still enjoy watching a powerful woman get in there and mix it up with the guys.
We have seen women eliminate men from the Rumble before, but the most memorable elimination by a woman might be Beth Phoenix throwing Khali over the top rope.
Do you like seeing Women in the Rumble match?
WWE has always gotten criticised for how they portray women negatively, but their positive portrayals of women are almost never mentioned.
Women in WWE are strong, intelligent and capable of breaking the bones of anyone who looks at them the wrong way.
Just because they do not have 20 minute matches every week doesn't mean they are not capable of doing so, and we know for a fact that some of the Divas are exceptional wrestlers.
This year we do not have Phoenix, Chyna or Kharma, but a Diva we do have is Tamina Snuka.
At 5'9", Tamina is the tallest Diva and she is also one of the most powerful and talented Divas they have.
WWE has teased a push for Tamina a few times in the past, but for one reason or another she always loses steam and we don't see her for months.
This could be the chance WWE has been waiting for to make her into a much bigger name than she already is. A Rumble appearance would raise her profile significantly, especially if she was able to eliminate a few men in the process.
WWE lost Beth Phoenix in 2012 and Eve Torres in 2013. They should be scrambling to keep their talented Divas happy, which is why Tamina deserves this chance.
If recent reports are to be believed, then we have to assume that WWE will do something to cater to the female fans at The Rumble, and what better way than putting one of the best Divas right in the middle of the action?
