Your team has probably played a few games up to this point, and if you're like a lot of other fans, you've either bought Stanley Cup tickets or you're anxiously awaiting the draft. If it's the latter, fear not: Though it's a lockout-shortened season, there is still plenty of time to reverse your fortunes.
It's no surprise that a few teams, like Boston in the East and San Jose in the West, have jumped out to hot starts. The Bruins will face stiff competition from two Atlantic Division rivals in the New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers, even though the two stalwarts have struggled out of the gate. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Penguins have staked themselves to a fast start in the early going.
Out west, the Sharks have mirrored Pittsburgh's strong opening stanza, but throughout the year they'll be chased by the Chicago Blackhawks, the Los Angeles Kings and the upstart Minnesota Wild. The St. Louis Blues, armed with some great young talent and a dynamic goaltending duo, have every other Western Conference team in their crosshairs.
