Madison – Missed free throws, an issue for most of the season for Bo Ryan’s basketball team, finally cost Wisconsin a game.

This one hurt.

Michigan State, in first place in the Big Ten Conference and ranked No. 13 in the country, escaped with a 49-47 victory Tuesday night at the Kohl Center largely because UW was dreadful from the free-throw line.
