D.C. United and Assistant Coach Pat Onstad today announced that the two have mutually agreed to terminate his contract. Onstad – widely considered to be one of the top goalkeepers in MLS history – had joined United’s coaching staff prior to the 2011 season. In 2012, Onstad coached starting netminder Bill Hamid to a career season, with Hamid setting highs in GAA (1.03), saves (88), shutouts (8) and wins (13). At the end of the 2012 campaign, the Academy product finished with the best saves percentage (78.6%) in MLS and boasted the third-lowest GAA (minimum of 1,000 minutes played) in the League...
