The town, at least for now, belongs to both teams.

The Knicks’ bid to claim the metropolis as their own fell as short as Carmelo Anthony’s potential go-ahead jumper against the Nets in the final seconds on Monday. Instead, the race for the Atlantic Division title is very much wide open for the two local teams who won’t meet again unless they see each other in the playoffs. And wouldn’t that be fun.
