Does it seem odd to anyone else that the Oakland Raiders have yet to assign a jersey number to cornerback, DeAngelo Hall? At least according to www.raiders.com, Hall's number has yet to be listed.

Quarterbacks, Erik Meyer (5) and Jeff Otis (7), both had numbers the day they signed.

All of the other "big name" free agents have been awarded numbers, but DeAngelo is still numberless (unless - is a number). Hall wore the number twenty-one (21) while playing for Atlanta.

I can only hope that he isn't trying to grab that number from Oakland cornerback, Nnamdi Asomugha (pointless, unnecessary drama).

Worse yet, might the rumors of the Raiders entertaining a Nnamdi trade, actually be the truth?

Any input?

UPDATE:

In an apparent sign of agreement with Annonymous, the Raiders have official listed D-Hall as number 23, Chris Carr's former number.

  1. Well my only thinking is that they're waiting for the draft or for players to be cut for june first....as it goes right now, the only numbers available are 32, 38, and 39. He wore #4 in college so that doesnt really give any insight. I put him #32 in madden...#32 in silver and black no matter what decade always looks great running to the endzone dont u think?

  2. Ryan- I can't help but agree about 32, though silver and black always looks good running into the endzone. The 32 is attractive, and is a number with history for the Raiders. I really do hope it is just nothing.

  3. LOl. I got him as #32 in my Madden Game. But I think he's waiting for Chris Carr's #23 jersey. And he'll probably get it. The Titans just signed Chris Carr and the Raiders have only a few more day to match that offer. If they don't match the offer from the Titans. Then the #23 will be available for Hall. I'm a die hard Raiders fan and I like having Hall. But #32 is too great of a number for him to have in Oakland. I say we save #32 for Darren McFadden(aka THE NEXT MARCUS ALLEN). What do you guys think?

  4. We aren't trading Nnamdi Asomugha! There is no fucking way in hell that Al Davis brought in Hall to replace Asomugha! Hall is good but he isn't even in the same realm as Asomugha. Why would we trade away our best player/ best CB in the game/ team leader and face of our defense. Asomugha is Rob Ryan's favorite player. And as you can see. Rob Ryan has 1000 times more pull than Kiffin does. Every player that has been brought in is because Al Davis and Rob Ryan wanted them. The only player Kiffin got back that he wanted was Justin fargas(who I like a lot). Kiffin is like one of those fathead posters. Kiffin's job is to stand on the sidelines and take the blame for Al Davis's mistakes. Lane Kiffin has the same role as Art Shell did. JUST STAND THERE ON SUNDAYS. Because when Al Davis's plans back fire everyone looks at the young head coach and blames him. Kiffin is Al Davis's new scapegoat. People will say "Hey Al Davis brought in all these good players and they still lose because of the inexpirienced coach Kiffin( with his dumb 4th and 1 plays that cost us 3 games last year and not to mention the call for Culpepper to throw on 2nd and 3rd down on the goal line VS. the Chargers in week 5 costing us the lead at halftime).

    1. Though I hope that you are right about Asomugha, I must agree with a previous post here on bleacher report. I think that Davis is supporting Kiffin by not tearing apart the offense that was so successful for him last season. Everyone knows that Davis is a D guy, and he is letting Kiffin maintain his Offense. We'll see in the draft, but if Defensive player is drafted in the first round, we know that Davis truly supports the offense that Tom Cable and Lane Kiffin created last season- the addition of wide receivers and Lofton will only add to the greatness.

  5. I Know I'm wonderin what number he picks.....Most likely its #32 but i would like to see him #37 like lester hayes back in the day.

I hope raiders keep Nhamdi though to keep the best cornerback tandem out there!!

  6. i have him as 37 on madden. He wears 21 because his Idol (primetime) wore it. But when he went on to play for baltimore he wore 37. 37 is currently on the soon to be released Johnson.(I dont see a need for him)with routt and bowie, unless they keep him to replace carr.(I would think carr would be replaced with a draft pick that can help with the return duties.)

  7. he'll make a big dollar offer for number 21, if not he will go for 37 not just because of sanders but 7 for vick, but for sure hell offer a ridicilous amount of money for 21

  8. Deangelo Hall is the best CB in the N.F.L. He should wear #21. Aso is gone next year anyway, with the addition of the great D.Hall we can't afford to sign him after next year. I would not want another player to come in and get it after aso leaves. Give it to the one that is going to be there, (D. Hall). Get that #21, D. Why make D wear a jacked-up # for a year. The only other # to look 1/2 way right is #22.
