David Wright continued his winning ways and finally proposed to longtime girlfriend and model, Molly Beers.
ESPN New York reports the star third baseman divulged the good news but has yet to pick out a date for the wedding:
Weeks after model Molly Beers accompanied Wright to the winter meetings for his contract-extension announcement, the couple became engaged over the holidays, Wright told ESPNNewYork.com.
That contract extension solidified David Wright as the franchise's star player for the foreseeable future. Back in December, he signed an eight-year extension worth $138 million, keeping the hot-corner slugger in town for the remainder of the decade, via ESPN.
Now that his career is fairly mapped out financially, Wright decided to take care of the most important aspect of his life.
As for the lovely lady who was by his side at the winter meeting, she is a model with Ford Models. She features in the video below if you are into that sort of thing.
The two have been dating for a few years, at least since 2008, according to The New York Daily News. The report is a reminder that their first public foray as a couple was a surprise birthday Wright threw for his girlfriend that summer.

Wright is a career .301 hitter who has 204 home runs in just nine seasons for the Mets. But he does have his work cut out for him to turn a flailing franchise around.
The team lost 88 games last season and did a great deal more losing this offseason when Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey was dealt to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Either way, Wright has a great woman to support him through what should be a trying as well as rewarding second half of his career.
