Julio Jones Hauls in Amazing Touchdown Catch
The Atlanta Falcons are certainly glad they traded up to snag Julio Jones in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft, but his huge performance wasn't enough as the San Francisco 49ers won 28-24 to advance to the Super Bowl.
However, the immensely talented wideout embarrassed the vaunted 49ers in the thrilling NFC title game.
After hauling in a 46-yard touchdown on a blown coverage in the first quarter, the former Alabama star displayed tremendous speed, ball skills and body control on his second score of the afternoon, a 20-yard dime delivered by quarterback Matt Ryan.
With Tarell Brown tightly in coverage, Jones made a spectacular over-the-head grab and dragged both feet in bounds to give Mike Smith's group a 17-0 lead.
Stunningly, the Falcons were held without a point in the second half, and Jones finished with 11 grabs for 182 yards with two scores in defeat.
