Head coach Gene Chizik and staff put the team through a limited scrimmage on Wednesday. After the Tigers' practice Chizik reported that running backs Ben Tate and Onterio McCalebb both busted some good runs.
He also said that there was no separation among the quarterbacks vying for the starting position. Otherwise, Chizik summarized the practice as saying the energy was good but as far as execution, there was a little good and bad on both sides of the line of scrimmage.
Wide receiver coach Trooper Taylor also said he was especially pleased with the effort of Tim Hawthorne.
The Tigers will have a full scale scrimmage on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The scrimmage is closed to the public.
