Bisping vs. Belfort Results: Round-by-Round Recap and Analysis

Middleweight contenders Michael Bisping and Vitor Belfort will share the Octagon for UFC on FX 7's main event, an affair that will thin out the clutter in a very competitive 185-pound division.
With a victory, Bisping can vault himself into a title match with divisional deity Anderson Silva. A win for Belfort takes him one step closer to redemption.

The action begins with a brief feeling out process that sees Bisping testing the waters with his jab. Not too much is landing though.
An inside leg-kick from the Brit moves Belfort back before he returns with a kick of his own that Bisping side-steps. About a minute later Belfort tries a spinning back kick up high, but gets nothing but air.
The fighters open up a bit as Belfort lands a solid counter-right as Bisping continues to use his one-two combination to press forward. A kick and follow up jab from Belfort is countered by a stiff punch from Bisping.
Bisping take a finger in the eye, but that only stalls the action for a few seconds.
The Englishman rushes Belfort with a kick-punch combo, landing a jab that is countered in kind.
A big left high-kick lands for Belfort. The Brazilian smells blood and presses forward, but Bisping still has his feet and shrugs off the attack as the round draws to a close.
Close round.
Score: 10-9 Belfort.

A short shot opens up Bisping's nose to begin the second frame. The Brazilian is looking to counter the more active Brit, but isn't finding much.
A left head-kick from Belfort flattens Bisping, dropping him to the canvas. Bisping is covering up, but Belfort is hammering away with left-hands on the follow-up.
That's it. The ref pulls Belfort off and it's all over.
