Middleweight contenders Michael Bisping and Vitor Belfort will share the Octagon for UFC on FX 7's main event, an affair that will thin out the clutter in a very competitive 185-pound division.

With a victory, Bisping can vault himself into a title match with divisional deity Anderson Silva. A win for Belfort takes him one step closer to redemption.

Check in right here as the action breaks for live round-by-round recap and analysis of the action.

The action begins with a brief feeling out process that sees Bisping testing the waters with his jab. Not too much is landing though.

An inside leg-kick from the Brit moves Belfort back before he returns with a kick of his own that Bisping side-steps. About a minute later Belfort tries a spinning back kick up high, but gets nothing but air.

The fighters open up a bit as Belfort lands a solid counter-right as Bisping continues to use his one-two combination to press forward. A kick and follow up jab from Belfort is countered by a stiff punch from Bisping.

Bisping take a finger in the eye, but that only stalls the action for a few seconds.

The Englishman rushes Belfort with a kick-punch combo, landing a jab that is countered in kind.

A big left high-kick lands for Belfort. The Brazilian smells blood and presses forward, but Bisping still has his feet and shrugs off the attack as the round draws to a close.

Close round.

Score: 10-9 Belfort.

A short shot opens up Bisping's nose to begin the second frame. The Brazilian is looking to counter the more active Brit, but isn't finding much.

A left head-kick from Belfort flattens Bisping, dropping him to the canvas. Bisping is covering up, but Belfort is hammering away with left-hands on the follow-up.

That's it. The ref pulls Belfort off and it's all over.

Official Decision: Vitor Belfort defeats Michael Bisping via TKO, 1:27 of Round 2
