The UFC's middleweight division just got a little deeper.

Greg Jackson MMA middleweight standout Adlan Amagov is primed to make his Octagon debut, according to an announcement on MVC Sports Management's website

His manager states:

Adlan Amagov will have a new home. After posting a 3-1 record in Strikeforce, earning two first round stoppages, Amagov will be taking his talents to the UFC. With some heavy hands and lethal leg kicks, the "Wolf" aka "Borz", will be looking to claw his way up the ranks of the middleweight division.

The 26-year-old Amagov faced the likes of Robbie Lawler, Anthony Smith and Keith Berry during his stint with Strikeforce. His sole loss in the promotion came at the knee and fists of Robbie Lawler in brutal knockout fashion at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine

His most recent victory, a first-round TKO stoppage over Keith Berry, is mired in controversy.

Berry felt Amagov used an illegal kick to hyper-extend his knee, causing him to tumble awkwardly to the canvas.

From there, Berry suffered an unfortunate series of events, as Herb Dean called the fight, thinking Berry was unable to defend himself.

To the contrary. In his post on the Underground, Berry writes the following:

But I was totally fine and was trying to work back up. The whole time Herb was concerned I blew my knee and asked me to say if I'm ok and I was trying to say yes and he kept asking me so I yelled while being punched at "I'm Fine!" and tried to do a thumbs up.

Then the fight was stopped, I thought he was going to separate us and take a point cuz (sic) of the kick but he called the fight. It was just a miscommunication with me and Herb.

Because of this, Amagov will make his Octagon debut with a little baggage, but he will certainly have the opportunity to rectify past wrongs and forge a new image and future for himself under the UFC banner.

No opponent has been named for Amagov's debut, but I think a matchup with a low-tier middleweight like Clifford Starks, Caio Magalhaes or Karlos Vemola would be appropriate.
