North Carolina 62, Maryland 52

There was doubt on Saturday afternoon that the North Carolina Tar Heels would defeat the Maryland Terrapins.

The Tar Heels got off to a hot start and went into the halftime break up by 22 points.

Reggie Bullock powered Roy Williams' team to the huge halftime lead with 21 first-half points.

Bullock, who ended the game with a career-high 24, and his teammates came out flat in the second half and let the visiting Terrapins get within 10 points.

James Michael McAdoo picked up the slack in the second half for the Tar Heels and ended with his first double-double since December 1.

For the Terrapins, Dez Wells was their best player with 21 points.

However, Marc Turgeon's team did not see any other player step up alongside Wells to muster a comeback in Chapel Hill.

The Tar Heels moved to 2-2 in the ACC and will play Georgia Tech at home on Wednesday night.

Maryland drops to 2-3 in conference play ahead of their home game with Boston College on Tuesday.
