The Pacers jumped out to a 31-18 lead through one quarter of play, but the Rockets bounced back to outscore Indiana in the second quarter, 34-28. Indiana had a 59-52 lead at the half, thanks to George's 23 points.
The Pacers roared back in the third quarter, outscoring the Rockets, 24-17. The Rockets made a little headway in the fourth quarter, but it ultimately wasn't enough to topple the home team.
Indiana racked up an impressive 14 offensive rebounds during the contest (including six by center Roy Hibbert) and shot 46 percent from the floor. The Pacers also went 11-of-19 from downtown and scored 18 points off of 18 Houston turnovers.
Rockets center Omer Asik posted 22 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and one steal in a losing effort.
Player of the Game: Paul George, SF, Indiana Pacers
Paul George was magnificent on Friday night, racking up a game-high 31 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists, five steals and one block. He went 11-of-19 from the field and 7-of-10 from three-point range.
George also posted a plus-minus of plus-16 in 43 minutes on the court.
