The Islanders officially suspended defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky on Friday, the last day of training camp. Visnovsky was traded to the Islanders in June, but has not returned from his native Slovakia due to personal reasons.

He spent the four-month NHL lockout playing for his hometown team, HC Slovan Bratislava in the Russia-based KHL, but has not been allowed to do so since the lockout ended last Sunday.
