Did J.J. Hickson Edge Kevin Durant for Monster Dunk of the Night?

LeBron James and the Miami Heat stole the headlines on January 16, 2013. Rightfully so.

Just don't think for a second that Kevin Durant was going to stand by and let his rival bask alone in the glory. KD threw down a strong candidate for dunk of the night.

In the process, Durant made a poster out of Danilo Gallinari.

In the continuation of a stunning string of outbursts, Durant received his seventh technical foul of the 2012-13 NBA regular season. Rather than upsetting his grandmother with more cuss words, Durant found a new outlet for his anger.

The rim.

Not too long after Durant threw down his gem, Portland Trail Blazers center J.J. Hickson offered up a finish for the ages. One which is certain to give Durant's dunk a run for its money.

Watch in awe.

Durant was called for eight technical fouls during the 2011 and 2012 seasons combined. He is now one off of that mark through just 39 games in 2012-13.

Hickson's dunk may push KD over the edge.

Hickson not only made a poster out of Alonzo Gee, but he pushed the Cleveland swingman down to the ground. Not with his arms, but with the power of his dunk.

Now that is a monster jam.

The question is, which Western Conference athlete threw down the dunk of the evening?

Was it KD's posterization of Danilo Gallinari? Or did Hickson's obliteration of Alonzo Gee take the cake?
