This Saturday night, UFC on FX 7 goes down from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The main card pits would-be middleweight title challenger Michael Bisping against former middleweight title challenger Vitor Belfort.
Are you one for a friendly wager? The kind placed for entertainment purposes only? I hear you, brother. Time for some action. Some gentlemen's action.
I've posted the odds for every main-card fight from three popular betting websites: BetUSA, 5Dimes and Pinnacle. That cross-section offers a broad picture of where things stand as fight night approaches. Proceed at your own risk, make your own determinations and hey—good luck out there.
5Dimes: Nurmagomedov -175/Tavares +155
BetUSA: Nurmagomedov -180/Tavares +150
Pinnacle: Nurmagomedov -172/Tavares +155
This one would be interesting if you thought Thiago Tavares was going to win. I do not think Thiago Tavares is going to win. He can grapple, but I believe Nurmagomedov will overpower him. Stay away.
5Dimes: Gonzaga -115/Rothwell -105
BetUSA: Gonzaga -120/Rothwell -110
Pinnacle: Gonzaga -110/Rothwell +100
Uh, stay away. Unless you want to take a flyer on Rothwell, who certainly looked good against Brendan Schaub and has the knockout power to put Gonzaga down.
5Dimes: Dollaway +160/Sarafian -185
BetUSA: Dollaway +150/Sarafian -180
Pinnacle: Dollaway +156/Sarafian -173
I was a little surprised by how they're dangling Dollaway out there like a chunk of raw bacon. He's a bigger name and has more than a decent shot to win. I guess Sarafian, one of the most impressive fighters to emerge from TUF: Brazil, is not as well-kept of a secret as I had suspected.
Still, Dollaway looks pretty enticing. At least compared with the other pick 'ems on this card.
5Dimes: Bisping -110/Belfort -110
BetUSA: Bisping -110/Belfort -130
Pinnacle: Bisping -103/Belfort -107
So it turns out these odds were all pretty uninspiring and boring. Sorry about that. Hey, at least now you know.
Oh, and also, don't bet on the main event.
