Before their game with the Southwest Division cellar-dwelling New Orleans Hornets, 76ers coach Doug Collins attempted to whet the Sixers' appetite for victory by reminding them that they had gone six weeks without winning back-to-back games. This, however, was not enough to inspire them. The Sixers fell behind by 20 points early in the fourth quarter, mounted a rally, but again came up short in a 111-99 loss to the suddenly hot Hornets Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center.
