Urban Meyer is at it again on the recruiting trail.  On Monday, Meyer took a trip to Grand Rapids, Mich. to visit with highly touted receiver prospect Drake Harris.  Harris is a current Michigan State commit and is rated as the 3rd best 2014 prospect in the state of Michigan according to Scout.com.  Remember, Urban Meyer landed Michigan’s #2 rated prospect Damon Webb, when he gave a verbal commitment over the weekend.

Though Drake Harris is currently committed to Michigan State, he seemed very intrigued when he picked up an offer from the Buckeyes on Monday telling 247 sports, “They are one of the best football programs in the country.  You have arguably the best coach in the country. The campus is great, and the fan support is crazy and the tradition there is just tremendous.”

An official visit for Harris is in the works and you have to believe Ohio State will be going all in on this one.  At 6’4", Harris is an instant mismatch for any defensive back in the country.  Throw in his athleticism and you could potentially have the best receiver in the nation.

In a junior season which saw Harris eclipse 2,000 yards receiving, other offers have rolled in.  Florida, Notre Dame and Michigan are other schools interested in landing this big time prospect.

At this time Harris claims himself to be a “solid” to Michigan State according to Pete Wallner of Mlive.com, but Urban Meyer is slowly getting his foot in the door.  As we know, high school kids change their minds like women change their shoes, so nothing is a done deal until it’s in ink.  With National Signing Day more than a year away for current juniors, Coach Meyer will be able to work his magic in trying to get Drake Harris to flip over to the Buckeyes.
