Jovan Belcher Autopsy Report Reveals Details About His Final Moments

The autopsy report on Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins has provided more chilling details on the tragedy.

As ESPN reported, Belcher shot Perkins to death on Dec. 1 before driving to the Chiefs’ practice facility and committing suicide in front of his head coach, Romeo Crennel, and general manager, Scott Pioli, among others.

Today, the Associated Press (via ESPN) released the findings of the autopsy, which reveal that Belcher's blood-alcohol level was 0.17 and likely higher at the time of the shooting. The article also states that Perkins was shot nine times and suffered bullet wounds all over her body.

As USA Today’s Rachel George notes, the police report found that Belcher, 25, and Perkins, 22, were having difficulties in their relationship that included Belcher’s infidelity.

George’s report goes on to detail that Belcher went out in the Power and Light District in downtown Kansas City with Britney Glass, the woman he was involved with, and was confronted by police the night of the murder-suicide after he fell asleep in his car outside of Glass’ apartment.

The autopsy findings now show that he consumed enough alcohol to raise his blood-alcohol level to more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

These new details continue to provide more evidence as to what happened in the final night of Belcher and Perkins’ lives, and how the couple’s young daughter lost her parents.

Even with more information, this story will continue to cause anger, frustration and confusion as those involved directly and indirectly struggle to make sense of the horribly tragic events.
