After Saturday's scrimmage, Florida head coach Urban Meyer said he's looking for new playmakers. You see, the scrimmage only featured the talents of the Gators' proven players -- you know, those guys who won the SEC and national title.
Rather than to be satisfied that he has so many returning starters to his 2009 team, and focus on tweaking those guys' talents, Meyer was PO'ed following Saturday's scrimmage because none of the younger Gators stepped up when given an opportunity.
"One of the things our staff does better than anybody is they put (the players) in competitive situations as much as they can. The guys who made the plays today were some who made them in the SEC Championship Game and the national championship game last season.
"What we're trying to do is find the guys who have not made the plays. I was a little disappointed today in some spots."
Positions in which Meyer does have some legitimate concern are on the offensive line, fullback and wide receiver.
Otherwise, who says you can't have your cake and eat it too. I suppose Meyer has gotten to the level he has for not being satisfied.
