Urban Meyer Says Gators Have No Offense; Who Needs the Stinkin' I Formation

FastTimesintheSEC.comContributor IMarch 31, 2009

After Monday's practices, Florida head coach Urban Meyer seemed ready to abandon having Tim Tebow under center in the I formation.

“That “I” package, I’m not sure how long that I package is going to be sticking around here,” Meyer said.

“You want to have it in, but once again, I’ve said this from four years ago when we walked on this campus, we don’t really have an offense. It’s an offense based on what you have. If your players aren’t very good and you’re struggling and young and inexperienced, then we’re not going to run that package.”

Ahem. The Gators did plenty well without an offense in 2008. Again, why fix something that is not broken?
