When Will The Rock Win the WWE Title? Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, Never?

With the calender drawing closer and closer to The Royal Rumble, the questions and conflicting reports have begun to surface as to when The Rock will win the WWE title from CM Punk. It appeared all but a sure thing that The Rock would win the title at Royal Rumble when he faces Punk, but some say that it might not come until the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on February 17.

According to Marc Middleton of wrestlinginc.com (h/t The Wrestling Observer), "Regarding The Rock winning the WWE Title from CM Punk, there is a lot of talk that the title change won't happen at the Royal Rumble. Instead, Rock would win the title at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in the Chamber main event."

Perhaps it became too much of an assumption that The Rock would win the title and coast to WrestleMania as the champion, so the game plan had to change. The value of the Elimination Chamber might have been lessened if The Rock defeated CM Punk at The Royal Rumble.

This scenario will bring more of an interest to the Elimination Chamber and more anticipation for The Rock and his title pursuit. Fans would then have an ounce of doubt as to whether or not The Rock would actually win the title at the Chamber.

Could there be a chance that all of the hype that has surrounded The Rock's return and his desire to reclaim the title might all be for naught and that he might not actually become champion of the WWE again?

Would there even be a scenario that The Rock sticks around after WrestleMania and wins the belt then? It seems as though that is the least likeliest situation, but in the WWE, you never know.

The Rock and Punk certainly did not disappoint in their first promo of the New Year, and they will be able to carry the feud on for a couple of months if need be.

It is a debatable situation, no matter which road the WWE chooses to take, and one that can turn interesting very quickly if The Rock does not walk out of The Royal Rumble in Phoenix on January 27th with the WWE championship around his waist.

So when will The Rock become the king of the WWE again? Feel free to let me know your thoughts below!
