If Troy Polamalu is like Samson, then Kansas City is his Delilah. Yes, Polamalu might need to hide those curly locks, or next thing he knows he might be tackled by a barber. That's because the NFL owners are deciding on a ban that would allow hair to be no longer than the name on the back of the jersey.
Why? Likely for safety. And Polamalu knows the risks more than anybody. A couple of years ago Kansas City's Larry Johnson grabbed him by the hair and threw him to the turf following a Polamalu interception. Now the stipulation doesn't enforce cutting of the hair. Only that the excess hair is tucked into the helmet. But I really doubt if there is enough space left in Polamalu's helmet to fit all that hair.
