Tony Gonzalez is arguably the best tight end to ever play in the NFL, and his amazing touchdown grab in the first quarter against the Seattle Seahawks only further made this case for him in Sunday's NFC divisional-round matchup.
The Atlanta Falcons jumped out to an early 3-0 lead at home on Sunday thanks to a 39-yard field goal by Matt Bryant.
Then the Falcons put together an eight-play scoring drive near the end of the first quarter, capped by Gonzalez's insane toe-tap touchdown as the cherry on top from one yard out to put them up 10-0.
Gonzalez displayed all the qualities that have made him into the game's greatest on this play.
He outmuscled his defender while jockeying for position, leaped up over his defender, reached behind his body to pull down the pass and then displayed unparalleled body control to tap his toes inbounds before his momentum pulled him out.
Yep, Gonzo is the greatest tight end in NFL history, and his play gave the Falcons a huge boost against one of the hottest teams in the NFL these days.
