John Calipari, after an agonizing day for all concerned, has officially accepted the job as head coach at the University of Kentucky.

Calipari, his wife, and several assistant coaches all left the Calipari home around 4:30 p.m., heading to the airport to hop a charter for Lexington. The flight was scheduled to take off at 5:16 p.m. and arrive in Lexington at about 7 p.m.

That means that Kentucky will formally announce him as the new head coach tomorrow morning.

There is still no official word from the University of Memphis.
