The Los Angeles Lakers have been bitten hard by the injury bug this year. Things went from bad to worse on Friday as they learned that Jordan Hill will likely miss the remainder of the season with a tear in his hip.

According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, tests revealed that he will need surgery on his hip.

The Lakers and Hill want a second opinion from another doctor before officially declaring him out.

Hill played against Denver. He scored 13 points and grabbed five rounds in that game. He was averaging 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game off the bench for the team.

The Lakers have will likely rely on Earl Clark as second-unit option.
