Which NFL Player Does 4-Star TE Adam Breneman Compare To?

Full RideB/R VideoJanuary 8, 2017

As one of the top tight ends in the 2013 recruiting class, Adam Breneman figures to make waves at the next level.

Watch the video to see which NFL player compares to Breneman the most.

According to 247 Sports' composite ranking, the 6'5", 227-pound youngster out of Cedar Cliff High School is the No. 2 tight end in the class.

At this stage, Breneman has good size, bulk and height for his position, but he could stand to develop a little big more in that area.

He won't blow you away with his explosiveness and athleticism, but he does possess above-average quickness and speed for his size.

What really sets Breneman apart from most tight ends in the class, though, is his knowledge of the game, toughness and hands. He's not afraid to take a hit across the middle, he can pluck balls away from his body and he uses tempo and a feel for the game to gain separation from defenders and find seams.

The 4-star recruit could use some help with his blocking technique (particularly, improving the pop he delivers at the point of contact), but he does display good hand placement, and he's tough and determined enough to be an asset in that area with some more coaching.

Overall, you're looking at a player who could fit into any scheme given his knowledge of the game and has the quickness, smarts and motor to make a big impact at the next level. He may struggle against top-end athletes early in his career, though.
