It's gotten bad in Laker Land, with Dwight Howard suffering a torn labrum, and Pau Gasol suffering a concussion. They need to play like an elite team for even a shot at making the playoffs, and they've shown little sign of that capability in these first few months of the NBA season.
Right now, the bench is killing L.A. because they lack options when the opposition goes small against their twin tower lineup. If Los Angeles wants to get better, upgrading their secondary players is a must. The question is "how?"
