If you are tired of seeing DX reuniting and realize that an nWo reunion is pretty much out of the picture, you may be happy to hear that Evolution might be getting the band back together.
Because they have done the DX reunion so many times, The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE officials have discussed doing an Evolution reunion, possibly at the RAW 20th Anniversary show next week. With Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton already in the building, the main issue would be getting Batista to come back for one night.
I, for one, am hopeful that the WWE manages to pull this off. Let's face it, do we really need to see Triple H and Shawn Michaels skipping down to the ring with glow sticks again? To me, those "one-night only" DX reunions have run their course and it's time to go another route.
The fact is, they could easily bring back the Four Horseman, McMahon-Helmsley Era, Nexus or the Ministry. Ultimately, the WWE has a plethora of successful factions that could be brought back for "one-night only" nostalgia purposes. Keep in mind, Evolution is no different, even though the group only lasted about a year and a half, they were still a memorable powerhouse.
As mentioned, the WWE will probably have a tough time bringing in Batista. This is mostly due to his acting schedule. Since departing from the WWE, he has been involved in at least four movies and according to ProWrestling.net, he is rumored for a starring role as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy.
In the end, the WWE has just a few days to pull this off, if they haven't already. So, I wouldn't put too much stock in this happening, unless they do it without Batista. Although, the WWE is known to pull of some big things in the last minute, so we will have to wait and see if this comes to fruition on Monday.
