It's been a long time coming, but Lamar Odom is finally starting to look like a guy who should be in the NBA again, and this dunk in the Los Angeles Clippers, 99-93, win over the Dallas Mavericks is the best 16-second clip that could possibly describe his turnaround.
As the season started, it seemed as if it was a pointless pickup for the Clippers. Odom had one of the worst seasons imaginable for the Mavericks last season, and trading for him seemed like the Clippers were trading for a chance to get burned yet again.
Wow, Lamar Odom from about three years ago decided to show up. That was the best dunk he's had in a while.— Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) January 10, 2013
We had fun with Odom and his weight but he's pretty close to his old weight and starting to play like it.— Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) January 10, 2013
It real is great to see Lamar Odom enjoying basketball again. Hear he's down around 245 after starting the year closer to 275. Less is m ...— Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne) January 10, 2013
Odom is skinnier, Vinny Del Negro doesn't look like a terrible coach, Grant Hill is back to being injured after playing in nearly every game of the past four seasons, while the Lakers are having Clippers-like luck, Kobe Bryant is scoring efficiently and the team is losing, Phil Jackson isn't coming in to bail them out and Clippers jerseys are starting to grow with every Clippers win.
It's great to see Odom playing at a respectable level again, and it looks like the Clippers could have a steal with him suddenly producing in their lineup.
