Real Madrid survived a scare from Celta Vigo in the Round of 16 in the Copa del Rey after winning the second leg of the matchup 4-0.

Celta Vigo won the first leg 2-1, but Madrid wasted no time in erasing the deficit it faced heading into the match. In just the third minute in the match, Cristiano Ronaldo blasted a shot from distance into the far corner of the net.

Madrid pushed forward with relentless pressure, and Ronaldo grabbed his second in the 24th minute when his slight touch was enough to take advantage of a wonderful pass from Luka Modric.

With a 3-2 lead on aggregate, Madrid faced a scare when Sergio Ramos received a second yellow card in the 72nd minute. But Iker Casillas came through with a few fine saves, and a third goal from Ronaldo in addition to one from Sami Khedira capped off a convincing victory.

Let's take a look at the grades for some of this matchup's key players.

Grades

Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid: A+

Several Madrid players could have gotten onto the scoresheet in this match, but Ronaldo was able to keep his composure in front of goal three times today.

His first goal was one that only he could have produced, and the Portuguese star turned in another world-class performance to ensure his team did not suffer an upset. He scored four of Madrid's five goals in the series with Celta Vigo.

Iago Aspas, Celta Vigo: B-

Aspas is Celta Vigo's leading scorer in La Liga, but he was given a rest at the start of this game. However, when his club needed a goal to force extra time, he was given his chance to be a hero.

While the second half of the match featured positive play from the Celta Vigo attackers, Aspas was ultimately unable to deliver one more goal for his team.

Luka Modric, Real Madrid: B+

Modric has come under fire for his lackluster performances this season, but his service on Ronaldo's second goal was pure class.

His chip over the defense was perfectly timed and astonishingly accurate, and with more plays like this one, he will find himself on Jose Mourinho's team sheet much more often.

Sergio Alvarez, Celta Vigo: C+

Alvarez had plenty of opportunities to make saves in this match, and he was active and energetic on his line. However, he was unable to get his hand on too many shots.

His performance was not as bad as the score line suggests, but he still could have made this match more difficult for Madrid.

Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid: C

Ramos was having a fine match before he inexplicably left his leg up as he went to the ground and received a second yellow card for his actions. This left the Madrid defense in a difficult situation.

Due to his indiscretion, Madrid had to defend its goal with just 10 men for the final 20 minutes of the match. Fortunately for the defender, Ronaldo's presence allowed the team to continue running up the score.

What's Next?

This is the end of Celta Vigo's Copa del Rey campaign, while Madrid will move on to play Valencia.

Both teams will travel for a La Liga fixture this Saturday. Madrid is off to take on Osasuna as it tries to catch Atletico Madrid in the second spot, while Celta Vigo will face Espanyol and attempt to move farther away from the relegation spots.
