SAGINAW, MI — Charles Rogers, the former Saginaw High School star athlete and former Detroit Lions wide receiver now accused of threatening to kill his mother, is in a drug and alcohol treatment facility through the National Football League Players Association.
Rogers, 31, was a three-sport star at Saginaw High who excelled as a wide receiver at Michigan State University. He was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, but his once-promising career was cut short after three seasons by injuries and marijuana use.
