The BCS National Championship Game nearly sucked the fun out of Mondays, which are hardly fun to begin with. It's a good thing there was a dust-up between Darnell Dockett and AJ McCarron over Katherine Webb to keep us all entertained.
It seems the Arizona Cardinals defensive end, like every human being alive, caught a glimpse of Katherine Webb during Monday's otherwise boring slaughter of Notre Dame.
Update: Tuesday, January 8, 2:35 p.m. ET
Below is a video of AJ McCarron initially finding out how viral his girlfriend's presence became on Monday night. His shock is priceless.
---end of update
Just as Brent Musberger freaked out when AJ McCarron's girlfriend was shown on live TV, so too did Dockett from the comfort of his home.
But you see, Dockett is a doer, a big-hitting go-getter and made sure to send out some love to this Katherine Webb woman everyone was tweeting about.
The star Cardinals end sent a DM to Webb, only accidentally tweeted it out instead. Of course, nothing is forgotten these days and the blunder, since erased, was caught by Black Sports Online, with some NSFW language.
Yes, Dockett was hitting on Webb, with the added enticement of wings (which would have been successful had he been hitting on me).
Life went on as it had for some time. Manti Te'o missed some tackles, Notre Dame scored on an extremely bored Alabama defense and the game, thankfully, ended.
That's when McCarron possibly got to his cell phone and uttered, "Oh, hell nah."
Here is a wonderful exchange between the two.
@10ajmccarron 😂😭😂😭😂 I made "OUR" girl famous tonight she had less than 5k followers now she over 80k! We all can go to wingstop! 😬— DARNELL DOCKETT (@ddockett) January 8, 2013
That was Dockett answering the Alabama quarterback with the assumption her massive following was all about him. We like to think it had something to do with Musberger falling in love with her.
Dockett then did the obvious thing and claimed Webb wasn't his type. Although, she is definitely cute enough for wings.
@10ajmccarron and i don't have dream, she not my type she cute but not my type, but I will still take her to wing stop not worth prime112 😕— DARNELL DOCKETT (@ddockett) January 8, 2013
If you have never stopped by Dockett's feed, I highly recommend it, because he is always good for a laugh.
Essentially, that's what all this is, a lovely and hilarious love triangle following an absurd football game, which featured a ridiculous cameo of the star QB's girlfriend.
That's a whole lot of craziness.
We will let Dockett take you out with these wise words.
Yes, sharing is caring, and this friendly Twitter dustup basically saved an otherwise disaster of a night.
