Another week of the winter transfer window means another week of the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumors for us to wade our way through.

As per usual, a number of different players have been linked with possible moves to and from Old Trafford over the January transfer window, with some rumors and updates containing a little more "substance" than others, shall we say.

Read on to find out all the latest transfer news and rumors for the Red Devils, and to see who could be coming to Manchester United this winter.

We kick off our transfer news with the latest on Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, whom Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly getting fed up with (per The Daily Mirror).

The 22-year-old had struggled for consistency earlier in the season, but has recently strung together a number of strong performances, though it seems that the reports linking the Spaniard away from United are still very prevalent.

Fernando Muslera

In light of the reports about David De Gea, United are believed to be considering making a move for Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, who impressed greatly in his two Champions League performances against United.

The Daily Mail reports that the £14 million-rated shot-stopper is on the radar of the Red Devils, who, if they sold De Gea, would obviously be looking for a new keeper or backup to Anders Lindegaard. Asmir Begovic and Pepe Reina were also touted as potential options by the media outlet.

Frank Lampard

Having been told he won't be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has reportedly come under the eye of Manchester United regarding a potential transfer (per The Telegraph).

The 34-year-old midfielder would seem unlikely to move to Old Trafford given his history at the West London club, but the reports insist that Ferguson is keen to sign Lampard on a free transfer at the end of next season.

Ferguson tried to sign Lampard for £10 million from West Ham back in 2001 but failed.

Ryan Tunnicliffe

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe is reportedly being considered as a potential loan target for the remainder of the season by a number of Premier League and Championship clubs.

Tunnicliffe, who made his first-team debut earlier in the year, is being touted as a potential signing for Reading, Leicester City, Hull City, Burnley, and Wolverhampton (per Sky Sports).

Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be unsure as to whether to let the youngster leave and gain experience, or keep him and use him for first-team purposes.

Wilfried Zaha

Manchester United have pulled ahead in the race to sign Wilfried Zaha, with only Tottenham Hotspur now thought to be a threat to the Red Devils (per The Daily Mail).

The highly-rated England international will most likely be loaned back to current club Crystal Palace for the remainder of the season should any deal be made between the two clubs.

Sven Bender

Reports emerged earlier in the week from The Daily Mail that United were chasing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sven Bender about a possible winter transfer. It was believed that the £15 million rated midfielder was viewed by Ferguson as a long-term successor to Michael Carrick in United's midfield.

However, according to the latest from SB Nation, both Bender and Neven Subotic have just signed long-term contract extensions to keep them at the German champions—thus ruling out any possible move that United would make for the 23-year-old.

Alexander Buttner

Our final bit of transfer news for the week comes from Goal.com, who report that Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner is being touted as a potential loan departure this winter.

Buttner has played several times in the Red Devils' first-team with great results, but Ferguson is thought to be interested in letting the youngster gain further experience and more regular minutes away from Old Trafford for the remainder of the year.

Joshua King, Angelo Henriquez and Bebe have all been sent out on loan already this January transfer window.
