On January 6, 2013 I had the pleasure of speaking with TNA British Boot Camp contestants, The Blossom Twins on my wrestling radio show, “Oh You Didn’t Know!?” on ProWrestlingPowerhouse.com Radio to discuss the competition, being a teacher, British wrestling and more.
"TNA British Boot Camp" is a British reality television show in which four contestants (The Blossom Twins, Rockstar Spud and Marty Scurll) compete for a contract with Total Nonstop Action wrestling.
The first discussion I had with the Blossom Twins dealt with a hypothetical question, if TNA had a pay-per-view in the UK and the girls could wrestle anyone at that who would it be?
The girls in TNA are incredible and so talented and is like a roster full of girls who we would love to step in the ring with all of them. At the moment I really love Madison Rayne and Gail Kim because just the fact they have established themselves as a tag team and we have said it a lot the fact that they have kept that strong tag team wrestling going and to wrestle on a big show with them…
If the Blossom Twins are able to win "TNA British Boot Camp," they may just have the opportunity to wrestle Rayne and Kim.
Another discussion I had with the twins involved talking about twins in professional wrestling and what separates them from the Bella Twins and other twins in wrestling.
Everyone’s unique in their own right, in general like even the regular singles competitors they’re all unique, they all have their own style, so I know obviously the immediate thing people do go you’re twins and they’re twins so ooh who’s copying who its like clearly you can’t say that… we’ve always wanted to do it from the age twelve and we’ve always wanted to be a tag team together.
Although every wrestler has idols and people they look up to, it is also important that the Blossom Twins and other aspiring wrestlers try to be unique too. Speaking of which, I also asked the girls about their idols. From reading their interview with SLTD wrestling, I learned they were fans of my all-time favorite superstar, Shawn Michaels.
Yes definitely. He (Shawn Michaels) was a big inspiration to us more when we started wrestling and we’ve really got into his watching his style and watching what he’s doing. Especially we used to watch and still do old tapes of the Rockers an we used to love watching them as a tag team and learning from them. Jeff Hardy we always say was probably our biggest inspiration as far as getting into wrestling. We got into it in 2000 when it was the era of the Hardy Boyz, Dudleyz and Edge and Christian. Jeff was what grew us to it kind of and made us get obsessed you know had to watch it every week and still to this day he inspires us with who he is and staying true to himself and his uniqueness and his creative side…
The Blossom Twins may have the opportunity to not only meet, but also be in the same ring with Jeff Hardy, the Dudleyz and others who inspired them if they are able to win "TNA British Boot Camp."
