Sprint to Replace Budweiser as Sponsor of Shootout at Daytona

With no other sponsor apparently available, telecommunications giant Sprint will underwrite the Feb. 16 non-points, invitation-only Sprint Unlimited exhibition at Daytona International Speedway. The annual non-points race began in 1979 as the Busch Clash, was renamed the Bud Shootout in 1998 and the Budweiser Shootout in 2001. The beer company's involvement ended last year, when Coors became the official sponsor of NASCAR's Sprint Cup pole award...
