Sprint to Replace Budweiser as Sponsor of Shootout at Daytona
With no other sponsor apparently available, telecommunications giant Sprint will underwrite the Feb. 16 non-points, invitation-only Sprint Unlimited exhibition at Daytona International Speedway. The annual non-points race began in 1979 as the Busch Clash, was renamed the Bud Shootout in 1998 and the Budweiser Shootout in 2001.
