Eagles Candidate Chip Kelly Returning to Oregon, and More NFC East News

For the second consecutive year, Oregon head coach Chip Kelly has flirted aggressively with the NFL before retreating back to the Ducks. And this year, that flirtation involved the Philadelphia Eagles's Sheil Kapadia has more details on Kelly's decision to stay at Oregon after considering taking over in Philadelphia. Cleveland was also reportedly in the mix.

From Kapadia:

The Browns were supposed to meet with Kelly over dinner, but his meeting with Jeffrey Lurie, Howie Roseman and Don Smolenski lasted longer than expected, as the Eagles' brass apparently put the hard sell on. But in the end, Kelly decided to stay at Oregon.

What does this all mean for Philadelphia? Kelly and Bill O'Brien, who were considered to be two of their top three or four candidates, are off the table, and the Jon Gruden talk has disappeared. I'd have to imagine that Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is now emerging as a minor favorite, but expect names like Gus Bradley, Bruce Arians, Jay Gruden and Mike Zimmer to become more popular in the days ahead.

On to what else is being talked about in the league's most popular division (but the only one without a single team still alive)...
